We are seeking someone to join our dynamic team. The purpose of the On Call Advocate role is to ensure the overall safety of the house, provide support on an as needed basis. This role could include day, evening, overnight and/or weekend hours. Families are in their rooms by 10PM each night for curfew so overnights would allow for partial sleep while being available for the needs of the residents.
Responding to immediate resident concerns, documenting medication and keeping work area neat/organized
Assist all residents with needs including support, problem solving, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, enforcing house guidelines and other concerns
Maintain effective team communication by logging about daily contact with residents and participate in regular consultation with colleagues
Maintain the security of the building and ensure safety of residents and complete incident reports as necessary
Provide safe and appropriate childcare during scheduled groups for parents.
Assist with the organizing, scheduling and facilitating, safe activities for the children, which revolve around a theme that is educational, fun and supportive.
Assist with providing individual support to children as needed.
Assist with supervision of volunteers, tutors and interns.
Assist with the children’s programming such as; birthday parties, field trips, clothing and incentives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of and ability to work with families, parents, children and youth of diverse racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds
Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction and motivational interviewing preferred
Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure
Ability to maintain good communications and working relationships with clients, co-workers, social service agencies, and referral organizations
2 – 4 years of experience working with women and children of diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds preferably in a housing and/or non-profit organization.
