Mary and her husband moved to Minneapolis in 2015. They have two grown children and a dog named Sophie. When Mary’s children were young she made the decision to not work outside their home and has had the honor of serving on several boards and organizations such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., City of Minneapolis NCEC (Neighborhood and Community Engagement Commission), Junior League, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Girl Scouts of America, several PTA’s (Parent Teacher Associations), and numerous youth sports organizations and places of worship.

Mary has a passion for issues that affect women and children. Mary shares that, “Women are the foundation of our society and we cannot truly reach our potential until the mental and physical health, social, economic, and financial needs of women are addressed and met. I appreciate the fact that Haven Housing addresses the trauma and adversities that lead to homelessness. Hope is essential for transformation and Haven Housing’s programs are helping to give families hope for brighter futures.”  In her free time, Mary loves to bake, craft, and read. She also enjoys traveling and trying new restaurants with her husband. She looks forward to contributing to Haven Housing’s continued success in providing shelter and housing for women and families in need of refuge, stability and opportunity.

Thank you, Mary, for sharing your passion and talents with Haven Housing!
